Isabel is a digital artist, community organizer and curious empath. Her vibrant and playful artwork explores themes of cultural heritage, childhood memories and human connection.

Isabel Contreras is a mixed Indigenous artist who specializes in digital illustration and graphic design. She was born and raised in California and draws the majority of her inspiration from her hometown, her family, and her cultures. She received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and has since been creating work centered around culture, representation, and inclusivity.

She has her own brand Esa Chabe, where she sells her artwork and custom merchandise through her e-commerce platform and event pop-ups. She is also the founder of Mi Gente CA, a community organization that hosts cultural events to support and amplify underrepresented creatives. She has been recognized for her community work in Santa Cruz, CA and was named Community Builder of the Year, Activist/Changemaker, and received a Mayoral Proclamation for her work during Hispanic/Latine Heritage Month, all in her first year as an organization.

Whether it’s through her art projects, or community organizing, Isabel plans to continue creating spaces for folks to feel seen and celebrated through their passions and talents. Her work can be found online at esachabe.com and migenteca.org, or on Instagram at @_esachabe and @migenteca.

Let’s collaborate!
